Snoop Dogg Inducts Tupac Into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame With Emotional Tribute (Video)

Snoop Dogg paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Tupac Shakur at the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The 45-year-old rapper took the stage and reflected on how Tupac – who died more than 20 years ago at the untimely age of 25 – has changed not only the music industry but also himself as a person and artist.

“While many remember him now as some kind of thugged-out superhero, Tupac really was only good, and he represented through his music like no one before,” Snoop told the crowd. “It’s the fact that he never shied away from it. He wore it like a badge of honor. With an unapologetic voice, Pac embraced those contradictions that proved we ain’t just a character out of someone else’s storybook.”

Snoop also recalled a time he went parasailing with Tupac while on vacation in South America – with Suge Knight driving the boat! “Does anybody know what parasailing is?” Snoop asked. “Because we sure didn’t. Me and Pac were sitting on the edge of the boat with all this gear on when all of a sudden, the boat pulls away and we start floating away. We were scared as a [expletive], we were holding hands.”

“Tupac, we love you, dawg,” Snoop finished. “You gon’ always be right with us. … They can’t take this away from you, homie. I love you, Tupac. Welcome to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Thug life!”
