'Power Rangers' Star Jason David Frank Speaks Out After Being Targeted in Assassination Attempt

Jason David Frank – the original Green Power Ranger in the 1990s Power Rangers TV series – is safe after being targeted in an assassination attempt at the Phoenix Comicon earlier this week.

A gunman was arrested on Thursday (May 25) for allegedly planning on killing the 43-year-old former Power Ranger and police officers at the event in Arizona over the weekend.

After the arrest, Jason spoke with Fox 10 Phoenix where he thanked the police officers for keeping him safe during the event.

“I’m very grateful to the Phoenix police department for their brave and outstanding efforts, which avoided a terrible tragedy, as recently seen at the concert in Manchester,” Jason said. “To all my fans, please, if you see something, say something.”

The gunman was arrested at the Phoenix Convention Center after police officers found him carrying three handguns, a shotgun, knives, throwing stars, pepper spray and ammunition and was also wearing body armor under his clothes along with a reminder on his phoen that said “Kill JDF,” ABC 15 reports.

“This incident is an eye-opening situation to increase and add more security to all Comicons around the world,” Jason said.
