Ruth Negga Thinks 'Preacher' is a Really 'Perverse' Show!

Ruth Negga made an appearance on last night’s (June 26) episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, and dished all about the second season of her AMC show Preacher, which is an adaptation of the comic book series.

“It was in my orbit purely because I grew up with a lot of boys who were into comic books, so it was kind of always around. I’ve never read it before but after I got the audition, I dipped into them,” the 35-year-old actress told Seth. “I read all of them in about twelve hours and I thought this is perverse, and really weird, and they’re not going to get passed the first episode.”

“I think Seth [Rogen] and Evan [Goldberg], who produced it, they are big fans of it so they were really passionate about getting it made,” Ruth continued. “I think they knew if they wanted to bring it to the small screen properly they’d have to adapt it a bit. I don’t think you’d be able to do it frame to frame, it would never get passed any censor.”
