True Blood's Anna Paquin Joins 'The Affair' for Final Season

Anna Paquin has signed on for the fifth and final season of Showtime’s The Affair!

The 36-year-old former True Blood actress will take on the role of the adult version of Joanie Lockhart, the daughter of Alison and Cole, TV Line reports.

“YAY!! I’m so EXCITED!!!” Anna shared on Instagram about the news.

The final season will jump several decades into the future as Joanie “returns to a climate-change ravaged Montauk to piece together the truth about what happened to her late mother.”

In season four, Alison (Ruth Wilson) appeared to die by suicide, but it was later revealed that she was murdered by Ben (Ramon Rodriguez).

The Affair‘s fifth and final season will premiere on Showtime in 2019.
