H.E.R. Pays Tribute to Nipsey Hussle at Coachella 2019!

H.E.R. put on a special performance at the 2019 Coachella Music Festival!

The 21-year-old Grammy-winning singer-songwriter opened her set on Sunday evening (April 14) with an out-of-character slideshow of portraits before she emerged onstage with an acoustic guitar to play her songs like “Carried Away,” “2” and “Hard Place.”

Later during her set, H.E.R. got emotional while paying tribute to Nispey Hussle – who sadly passed away within this past year.

“Can we change the mood a little bit? There’s something really heavy on my mind,” she expressed (via USA Today). “Because we lost Nipsey Hussle, we need to embrace the Nipsey in every neighborhood around the world. I get real emotional about it because there’s so much change that needs to happen around the world. If he could, we can.”
