Taron Egerton Reveals That Elton John Gave Him A Drag Name!

Taron Egerton keeps it cool as he steps out to sign autographs outside of his hotel on Tuesday (November 12) in New York City.

That same day, the 30-year-old Rocketman star paid a visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers and dished about his real-life friendship with Elton John after the playing him in the critically acclaimed biopic.

“I have a proof card. It’s been an incredible by product of playing him, we have just become really quite close, yeah,” Taron expressed.

Taron then went on to reveal that Elton graced him with a drag name: “He gave me a drag name! My girlfriend and I, one of the things that we do to relax is that we have a camper van that we will take away for weekends. He wanted to factor that into my name,” Taron explained. “So the first part of my name is Blodyn, which is a Welsh word meaning flower. My surname is CamperVan. Blodyn CamperVan! Yeah, it’s good. You have to put the stress on the Van rather than the Camper because it just makes it feel a bit more theatrical.”
