Penn Badgley Tells 'Colbert' That Playing Creepy On 'You' Is 'Shockingly Simple'!

Being creepy apparently comes very naturally to Penn Badgley!

The 33-year-old actor stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night (January 9), and talked about playing a sociopathic killer on his hit Netflix show, You.

“I struggled greatly with the conflict of playing such a guy and him being partly so likable and having such a, as we say, thirsty response to him,” Penn admitted.

But despite the conflict of playing the character, when it comes to going from charming to creepy on the series, Badgley said, “It’s shockingly simple. That does not mean it’s easy, although sometimes it is.”

Penn explained that the trick to coming off creepy is, “Put yourself in a really questionable circumstance, an inappropriate circumstance, and then you do nothing.”
