Harry Potter's Julie Walters Diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer, Is Now All Clear

Julie Walters is revealing that she was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer 18 months ago, and she’s thankfully all clear today.

The 69-year-old actress – who is well known for her work as Rosie in the Mamma Mia films and Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter films – found an abnormality in her intestine after undergoing a medical test.

“I was still thinking, ‘That’s ridiculous, he must have made a mistake’. I couldn’t believe it,” she told the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire.

Doctors informed her that “We can fix this.” She recalled telling her husband and “tears came into his eyes.”

She had one foot of her colon removed and underwent chemotherapy. She added that she “just had a scan and I know that [I’m] clear.”
