Ellen DeGeneres Show Will Film Without Live Audiences Because of Coronavirus

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is the latest talk show that will suspend live audiences because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“With the rapidly changing nature of the COVID-19 outbreak, and out of concern for our audience attending ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ Telepictures will suspend audience attendance during tapings effective Monday, March 16,” a spokesperson for the show said in a statement, via Variety.

“This temporary measure will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and will not impact the production schedule of Ellen.”

Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and The Wendy Williams Show have all also suspended live audience tapings.

Earlier this month, Ellen taped a segment teaching people how to wash their hands to protect themselves from coronavirus.
