Lizzo Reveals She Has Strep, Defends Wearing Face Mask

Lizzo is speaking out to defend her decision to wear a face mask around her loved ones.

The 31-year-old singer and Grammy winner took to Instagram to reveal that she was diagnosed with strep throat.

“Got strep at the worst time ever,” Lizzo wrote on Instagram. “It’s nobody’s business but I’d prefer y’all not criticize me for wearing a face mask and doing what I was supposed to do to protect the people in my home.”

Lizzo added, “Please check yourself before you become an internet bully because you’re bored. Get your facts straight. The world needs less trolls and more compassion.”

The post was deleted from Lizzo‘s page shortly after she put it up.
