Kelly Clarkson Defends Her Daughter River's New Hairstyle

Kelly Clarkson is shutting down any mom shaming before it begins.

The 38-year-old singer took to social media over the weekend, and revealed that she had dyed a section of her six-year-old daughter, River‘s hair a bold purple.

“I put a purple streak in my daughter’s hair today and I swear to you she thinks she is as cool as Prince now 🤣,” Kelly wrote about the new style for River. “Full on air guitar, singing at the top of her lungs, that is what’s happening…”

She noted later that “before I get attacked for being the worst mom ever, it’s safe, organic paint 🙄.”

Many celebrity moms have been the target of mom-shamers lately, including Kristen Bell, Maren Morris, and Chrissy Teigen.
