Nicole Kidman's 2001 Film 'The Others' Getting A Remake at Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures are planning to bring the 2001 film, The Others, back to life.

Deadline reports that the studio has optioned the rights to the film from Sentient and are starting to plan out a remake of the horror film, that originally starred Nicole Kidman.

The movie centers on Grace (Kidman), the devoutly religious mother of Anne and Nicholas, who moves her family to the English coast during World War II.

While she awaits word on her missing husband, she continues protecting her children from a rare photosensitivity disease that causes the sun to harm them.

When Anne claims she sees ghosts, Grace initially thinks the new servants are playing tricks but chilling events and visions make her believe something supernatural has occurred.

Deadline adds that it’s not known at this time if the new film will focus on the original storyline or a new one, or if Nicole would return for it.

At the 2001 box office, The Others brought in over $200 million.

If you didn’t see, this other classic film is also getting a remake…
