Kevin Durant Issues Apology After Michael Rapaport Leaks Offensive DMs

Kevin Durant is apologizing.

The 32-year-old Brooklyn Nets superstar issued an apology for homophobic and misogynistic language used in a private argument with actor Michael Rapaport, which was then posted to social media.

“I’m sorry that people seen that language I used. That’s not really what I want people to see and hear from me, but hopefully I can move past it and get back out there on the floor,” he said to ESPN.

The altercation took place back in December of 2020, when Kevin Durant seemingly took issue with Michael Rapaport‘s commmentary following a post-game interview.

“[Durant] seemed deeply in his feeling with the @NBAonTNT crew after the game. DAMNIT he’s super sensitive about everything. Don’t do the interview,” Michael said at the time.

Kevin then contacted Michael via DM, calling him a “bitch” and other profane slurs, as well as challenging him to a fight and asking for an address.

“I receive threats and disgusting messages DAILY, but never in my wildest dreams did I think [Durant] would be among them,” said Michael before posting the screenshots on social media.

In a follow-up, Kevin accused the actor of deleting messages from the exchange before posting them online. Michael seemingly admitted to editing their thread in another tweet. He also suggested he told the basketball player he would “break his f—king jaw,” and called him a “bitch” in return.
