Here's How the 'iCarly' Revival Will Address Jennette McCurdy's Absence

Jennette McCurdy will not be appearing in the upcoming reboot of iCarly, and there’s going to be an explanation why on the show.

The series, which stars Miranda Cosgrove, is set to return soon, but it’ll be missing Jennette‘s character Sam Puckett.

Miranda spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her absence.

“Definitely, we touch a lot on the whole relationship with Sam and where Sam’s at in the pilot episode,” she revealed.

“And then we mention her a little bit throughout the season, so we’ll definitely explain that on the show,” she continued to tease.

“In real life, we all really wanted Jennette to be part of the show, but she’s just doing other things right now,” Miranda said in another interview.

Earlier in the year, Jennette confirmed that she quit acting.

The show previously ran on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012. The new iCarly premieres on June 17 on Paramount+. There also may be a new romance in the show!
