Fall Out Boy Cancels Hella Mega Tour Dates in New York City & Boston

Sad news for Fall Out Boy fans.

On Wednesday (August 4), the band announced that they were pulling out of two tour dates amid their Hella Mega Tour with Green Day, Weezer, and the Interrupters.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Fall Out Boy will not perform at the New York and Boston shows of the Hella Mega Tour due to an individual on the band’s team testing positive for COVID,” a statement on the tour’s Instagram reads.

“Green Day, Weezer and the Interrupters will perform as scheduled,” the statement continued. “It’s important to note that everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated.”

The concerts are taking place at Queens’ Citi Field on Wednesday, August 4th and at Boston’s Fenway Park on Thursday, August 5th.

“Each band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show in between shows,” the statement added. “The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines.”
