Katie Thurston Has Tense Reunion with Greg Grippo During 'Bachelorette' Finale (Spoilers)

Katie Thurston had a super tense reunion with Greg Grippo during the After the Final Rose special for The Bachelorette season finale.

If you are unaware, Greg was in Katie‘s top three and he decided to leave last week after the hometown dates because of her non-response to his confession that he’s in love with her.

Katie tried to get Greg to stay and continue the journey with her, but he refused.

During the reunion, Katie accused Greg of being an actor and using the show as acting practice.

Before Katie even arrived on stage, Greg told hosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe that he would not change how he approached the situation.

“I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, everything makes you stronger and she found her person,” Greg said. “I’m grateful for her, honestly, no matter what. She showed me another side of myself. She brought happiness into me when I didn’t know it was really missing.”

When Katie arrived on stage, she told Greg that she feels he never wanted to get engaged.

“You’re saying that I’m not validating you enough but it’s like, you got a first impression rose, you got a first one-on-one, a second one-on-one, every single group date,” she said. “And in the moment, I’m not realizing this. But I’m watching it back, I am giving you validation every single week. And for that Hometown to go as perfectly as it did until the very end, and for you to do a 180, I feel like you were looking for the perfect opportunity to escape, because you were never ready for an engagement.”

Greg responded, “I had every clear intention of getting engaged, I wouldn’t have introduced you to my family if I didn’t.”

Katie told him, “I am very happy, but that doesn’t take away the anger that I had watching this back and seeing the way you treated me, using me to get the experience [and] the exposure — dare I say the acting practice — at my expense.”

Katie then brought up the acting career rumors. She said, “You can be an actor and want to be on the show, that’s not the problem. The problem is if you’re acting with me. And so, what I’ve been hearing is that Greg‘s not this shy guy act that he was doing on the show, [but] he’s actually this very confident, cocky boy from Jersey who knows that he’s hot s—. And like, this is an act. So paired with those rumors and acting school, I really don’t know if I actually know who Greg is.”

When Greg tried to defend himself, Katie said, “It’s not even about the acting. You’re a liar. You did not love me. If you think that’s love, you don’t know what love is.”

“I’m sorry, honestly, if you feel like I was talking down to you,” he responded.

“Gaslighting maybe is a better word,” Katie chimed in. “Gaslighting is when you try to make someone else feel like it’s their fault… You could have just been a man and had a normal conversation instead of being rude and not even saying goodbye.”

Greg ended up offering an apology to Katie.

“I’m sorry that you questioned my integrity on the show,” he said. “I didn’t know that I was going to fall in love with you like I did. I didn’t know that I was going to find such happiness in those moments. I got scared by the terminology you were using, and I felt like you were playing the Bachelorette game instead of just being Katie. You told me that you promised yourself that you were only going to say ‘I love you’ to one man at the end, and I respect that, but I also felt like that made you withhold some emotions.”

Katie responded, “You’re saying it was in that exact moment when I didn’t give you want you wanted. If you really did love me, that moment wouldn’t have pushed you away. You would have stayed, and you didn’t.”

Greg then said, “I don’t think that’s fair to say. We had plenty of talks, and there were plenty of opportunities… I shouldn’t have to ask the woman that I’m going to marry how she feels. A relationship is a two-way street. And yes, I know you’re the Bachelorette, but that doesn’t put you higher than me. I emptied my heart out to you on that couch, and all I got was a pat on the back. When I was leaving, you knew what I needed to hear. If it was me, you would’ve stopped me.”

Katie responded, “As soon as I say ‘I love you,’ my journey is over. And my journey wasn’t over… My person was not Greg, and when he left, so did everything I felt for him.”
