Chef Nigella Lawson Renamed One Of Her Most Popular Dessert Recipes - Here's Why

Late last year, Nigella Lawson made headlines for the way she pronounced the word microwave.

Now, the 61-year-old chef is making headlines again with her decision to rename one of her most popular dessert items.

Nigella had shared a “recipe of the day” with her fans on social media, calling it a “dream of a dessert,” that was named “Ruby Red Raspberries in Chardonnay Jelly.”

Many fans, however, noticed that Nigella had replaced the original word “slut” for “ruby,” changing the name of the recipe first shared in her 2002 cookbook “Forever Summer.”

The recipe was originally called “Slut Red Raspberries in Chardonnay Jelly.”

After fans questioned the change, Nigella explained why the title of the recipe was changed.

“I feel that the word has taken on a coarser, more cruel connotation, and I’m not happy with that,” she wrote in reply.

Earlier in the year, Nigella also changed the name of “Slut’s Spaghetti” to “Slattern’s Spaghetti”.
