Kelly Price Breaks Her Silence on Being Reported Missing, Reveals She Almost Died from COVID-19

Kelly Price is speaking out.

Last week, it was reported that the 48-year-old singer had gone missing after being discharged from the hospital where she was battling COVID-19.

Her rep Monica Ewing later clarified that she was not missing and was actually still recovering from the virus.

Kelly spoke with TMZ on Sunday night (September 26) and shared an update about how she was doing.

The performer revealed that she battled an extremely severe case of COVID-19 and at one point was considered dead.

“At some point they lost me,” she said. “I woke up some days later, a couple days later, and the first thing I remember is the team of doctors standing around me and asking me if I knew what year it was.”

She went on to say that she had COVID for a week before she was admitted to the hospital. She was sent home with oxygen as the hospital needed beds and was looked after by healthcare professionals for four weeks.

“People were definitely seeing me,” the Grammy nominee said. “The people that could actually say something are not allowed to because of HIPPA [Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act which guards the privacy of patients] law.”

Kelly also explained that she was suffering from long-term COVID and that she received her first negative test about a week ago.

“I feel like the only way I can focus on me is to actually focus on me,” she said.
