In paperwork filed in the Los Angeles federal court, the band claimed that “Levitating” was so similar to their 2017 song “Live Your Life” that it was “highly unlikely that Levitating was created independently.”

The complaint claims Dua had “access” to their song, but did not detail how she or cowriters Clarence Coffee Jr, Sarah Hudson, Stephen Kozmeniuk and cowriter/producer Stuart Price accessed the track.

“Live Your Life” is also not available on Spotify and has 34,000 plays on SoundCloud, via The Guardian.

They seek profits from “Levitating” in addition to damages.

At the same time, Dua Lipa has made a significant professional change while on tour.
