Reba McEntire Returns to the Oscars Stage After 30 Years to Perform 'Somehow You Do'

Reba McEntire is hitting the stage at the 2022 Academy Awards.

The 66-year-old country music legend performed “Somehow You Do,” which is nominated for Best Original Song at this year’s show.

This marks the first time Reba has taken the Oscars stage since 1991, when she performed after a tragic plane crash killed eight members of her band, her manager and both pilots.

“I will do my best to represent country music as best I can. I was very emotional yesterday about the Oscars, because I said yes to the Oscars in 1991 and then the plane crash happened,” she said in a recent interview. “And so I finally figured it out yesterday, I thought if I got too excited, something would happen. So I said, ‘God, I’m just going to give it up to you… Let me have a good time, let me sing it the way I’m supposed to say it. And it lifted like 100 pounds. We went to rehearsal and I had a great time.”
