Lizzo Dishes On Her Friendship With Adele: 'She's So Supportive'

Lizzo is opening up about her friendship with Adele in a new interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM.

While promoting her new music, the 33-year-old singer stopped by the program to chat, and revealed how they just click together.

“We’re both Tauruses, and when we’re together, the decibels of how loud we get with our laughter is incredible,” Lizzo teased. “We really are super similar and we don’t really f***ck with too many people, but we f*** with each other.”

Lizzo went on, saying that Adele had texted her over the weekend ahead of her SNL duties.

“I hadn’t heard from her in a minute, ’cause you know, life. But I was looking at her photo ’cause it’s right outside the dressing room, and she texted me and was like, ‘I hope you kill it this weekend, babes.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God! I’m looking at you while you…’’”

She adds, “She’s so supportive and she really believes in me. She’s f***ed with me for years. I met her at a Grammy party. I think it was Mark Ronson’s Grammy party years ago and she was like, ‘Oh my God!’ and I was like, ‘This is f***ing Adele!’ I like her. She a ghetto b**** like me.”

Additionally, Lizzo also dished on more of her music, and Yitty!

On writing over 200 songs for her album: “I was taking my time with it and writing a lot of songs. Like I’ve written hundreds at this point, probably almost like 175 to 200 songs. And I think I just needed to go through some things. I needed to go through life and get a lot of things off my chest.”

On developing her shapewear line, Yitty, for five years: “Fabletics believed in me and it, this is five years in the making it took. Five years ago I had my first meeting and three years in development. So, before that I wasn’t wearing anything. I stopped wearing bras. I stopped wearing panties for a while because I rebelled against like girdles and shapewear and corsets and stuff.”
