Stephen Colletti Hated That 'Laguna Beach' Portrayed Him As A Cheater

Stephen Colletti is looking back on the way Laguna Beach portrayed him while the show was on the air.

The 36-year-old reality star opened up to Kristin Cavallari on their podcast, Back To The Beach, about how producers made it look like there was a love triangle between them as well as Lauren Conrad.

Stephen says that the way the show was edited made him out to be a cheater, when he was not.

“I had a huge problem with this because, look, obviously they created this show around this love triangle and there’s moments where you and I were broken up,” he told Kristin. “And [producers] had learned about Lauren and I hooking up and being very good friends and, you know, obviously stuff happened at certain times.”

He then added that “at no point ever, whenever we were together, would I step out on you in that way.”

Stephen went on, saying that producers “filled in the gaps” with whatever storyline they wanted.

“With the genius of their editing, you have to hand it to them, they really crafted this storyline,” he shared, adding that the people on the show “had no idea they could pull certain parts of our sentences and then put them together” to create “a storyline that fit their narrative.”
