Verified Twitter Users Could Lose Their Blue Check Mark, Elon Musk Confirms Revamp Is Coming

According to various reports, Twitter is considering charging verified users $19.99 per month to use Twitter Blue, which is a feature for verified users that unlocks additional features.

According to reports from The Verge, Musk wants this change to come to make additional revenue streams for the social media platform. He has apparently tasked the staff with updating Twitter Blue and raising the price from $4.99 to $19.99. Apparently, the staff has until November 7 to implement changes or else they could be fired.

Under this new plan, Musk wants to charge every verified user the new rate of $19.99 per month or risk losing their blue check mark. Thus, the thousands and thousands of verified Twitter users with blue check marks, which indicates they are who they say they are while tweeting, could lose their verification status unless they pay the $19.99 monthly fee to join Twitter Blue.

Elon Musk did release a short statement on the verification process that has fans thinking this whole report could definitely be true.
