'Aladdin' Director Guy Ritchie Says He'd Work With Will Smith Again After Oscars Slap

Will Smith has a fan in his Aladdin director Guy Ritchie.

If you forgot, the 54-year-old King Richard star played Genie in the live-action adaptation of the Disney classic back in 2019.

Will‘s been in a tough spot in Hollywood since slapping Chris Rock onstage during the 2022 Oscars. However, Guy made it very clear that he would work with him again, making fans wonder if the star would return for an Aladdin sequel that is in pre-production.

“I’ve never met a more lovely man, and working with him was one of the most wonderful, great experiences I’ve ever had,” Guy told The Hollywood Reporter about Will. “I never saw anything other than the consummate, generous gentleman.”

“I wouldn’t have any issue casting Will Smith in anything, because, as I say, he was just the f-cking perfect gentleman,” he added.

If you missed it, Will opened up about his new movie Emancipation and moving on from the slap moment in a recent interview. He also returned to the red carpet for the first time late since the Oscars last month.
