Elon Musk Reacts After Being Loudly Booed at Dave Chappelle's Comedy Show

Elon Musk is reacting to a negative response.

The 51-year-old Tesla exec and new Twitter owner made a surprise appearance onstage with Dave Chappelle, and was loudly booed at the event.

The 49-year-old comedian was performing Sunday (December 12) at the Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., and toward the end of his set, he brought Elon onstage as a special guest.

After a few cheers, there were audible boos and jeers from the crowd.

At one point, Dave joked: “It sounds like some of the people you fired are in the audience.”

At one point, Dave asked Elon to shout his old show’s signature outro line, “I’m rich, bitch!” Elon did it, and the crowd was not amused either. Watch footage from the appearance here.

In response to the feedback, Elon spoke out on social media, downplaying the incident.

“Technically, it was 90% cheers & 10% boos (except during quiet periods), but, still, that’s a lot of boos, which is a first for me in real life (frequent on Twitter). It’s almost as if I’ve offended SF’s unhinged leftists … but nahhh,” he said.

He also addressed a popular music star departing Twitter following his takeover of the social media platform.
