Madelyn Cline Explains Why She's Stopped Discussing Her Personal Life Amid Jackson Guthy Relationship

Madelyn Cline is opening up about her decision to keep her personal life private amid her relationship with boyfriend Jackson Guthy.

The 25-year-old actress was previously in a very public relationship with her Outer Banks co-star Chase Stokes, but they split in November 2021.

While Madelyn has not confirmed her relationship with Jackson, they were spotted together last summer and are rumored to be together still.

In a new interview with Today, the reporter noted that Madelyn‘s phone lock screen had a photo of her and Jackson and that she used the word “we” while talking about her personal life. But, she told the outlet that she’s now careful about “what not to share with the world, and what to keep personal.”

Madelyn added that her relationship with Chase “happened to be on a stage, but it taught me a lot about myself and what I want and also about, again, learning what I want to keep for myself…the things that I want to be selfish about.”

“Some people can do it — I can’t,” she added. “If you give everything — like, 100% of your energy — away, where’s the rest for yourself? You finally understand why people in the public eye keep their circles small. I realized there are parts of my life that only me or one other person are entitled to. I prefer it that way. It also just makes things more special. That’s usually how relationships are.”

Madelyn recently revealed what it was like to work with Chase after their breakup.
