Harry Styles Does a 'Shoey,' Drinks Beer Out of Shoe in Australian Concert Tradition

Harry Styles is taking part in a tradition!

The 29-year-old “As It Was” singer hit the stage in Perth, Australia on Monday night (February 20), where he took a shot from his shoe – also known as a “shoey.”

The tour stop was part of his Australia and New Zealand run of the Love On Tour concert series, which was postponed amid the pandemic.

At one point during the show, Harry was urged to drink from his shoe in a longstanding tradition.

“This is one of the most disgusting traditions I’ve ever witnessed,” he said before quickly drinking and putting the shoe back on.

He then joked that he “will be discussing this with my therapist at length…I feel like a different person. I feel ashamed of myself.

“It feels so personal. Such an intimate moment to be shared with so many people,” he added.

The long-standing tradition has become a part of live touring tradition in Australia over the years.
