Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth Announce Their Divorce Days Ahead of 12th Wedding Anniversary

Reese Witherspoon and her husband of very nearly 12 years Jim Toth are calling it quits.

The 47-year-old actress shared the news via a statement on Instagram that was released in concert with her 52-year-old partner. The news was released two days before what would have been their 12th wedding anniversary.

“We have some personal news to share,” they wrote. “It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

They continued, writing “Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”

Reese and Jim share a 10-year-old son named Tennessee. The actress is also mother to Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19, from a previous relationship with Ryan Phillippe.

A source told People that the former couple remain “the best of friends” and that they made the decision together.

“They are so committed to co-parenting together,” they added. “They are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone.”
