Lea Michele & Best Friend Jonathan Groff Return to the Met Gala

Best friends Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff are back on the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

The former Glee co-stars both climbed the iconic steps outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art on their own, returning to the biggest night in fashion for the first time in years.

Lea wore a backless silver dress with long sleeves and a plunging neckline that was closed by a bow. Her sleeves and the bottom of the gown were both covered in silver fringe.

Jonathan opted for a black tuxedo with pearls that lined the lapels of the jacket. Instead of a tie, he wore a gold brooch with a pearl set in the center.

This makes for Lea‘s first Met Gala appearance since 2014. That year she dazzled in a gold dress and was joined by another of her Glee co-stars. She made her debut in 2011 and also attended the 2012 ceremony.

Jonathan made his Met Gala debut in 2016.
