Chris Pratt's Mother's Day Post Excludes Ex Anna Faris While Praising Wife Katherine Schwarzenegger for Being 'Best Step Mama' to Their Son Jack, Prompting Debate Amongst Fans

Chris Pratt‘s Mother’s Day post is sparking controversy online.

On Sunday (May 14), the 43-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy star took to social media to share a message praising his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger. The couple share two daughters, Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 1.

However, he notably left out ex Anna Faris, who is the mother of his oldest child and only son Jack, 10.

The decision is at the center of a conversation online with fans weighing in on both sides.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there. Especially grateful today for Katherine. You’re a wonderful partner. You’ve provided me such a blessed life. Our two daughters are so lucky to have you and you’re the best step mama to Jack,” Chris wrote in his post on Instagram.

Some fans thought that he should have acknowledged Anna since she is Jack‘s mother.

“My ex husband sent me a very nice message wishing me a happy Mother’s Day. Marriage didn’t work out, but at least he knows I’m a good mom to our child. It’s just appreciation,” one person wrote.

“Tom Brady managed to thank both of his exes in his Mother’s Day post. But I guess we can’t expect everyone to be perfect,” another Instagram user wrote in the comments section.

Others pointed out that Chris‘ message thanked “all of the mothers out there,” effectively including Anna. They also asked if it was necessary to praise an ex on Mother’s Day.

“His split with his ex-wife was Very Amicable, and they are both Very Happy In Their remarriages. Let it go, and let it be. Ask yourself this: You, or someone close to you, divorces and remarries.. Are you really going to mention your ex, or expect them to acknowledge theirs, Every Time a holiday rolls around, or a post of appreciation is made,” one defender wrote.

Others asked if Anna had shared a message about Chis on Father’s Day, pointing out what they saw as a double standard.

This isn’t the first time that Chris has drawn controversy for a post on social media. He revealed that criticisms about a post celebrating his “healthy daughter” caused him to cry last year.
