Leslie Grace Says She Is Open To Returning To The DC Universe, Even After 'Batgirl' Was Shelved

Leslie Grace says she has moved on after Batgirl was shelved almost one year ago.

But the 28-year-old In The Heights actress hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning to the DC Universe.

Leslie said she was open to playing another superhero as well. “Yeah! I mean, why not? Why not?,” she said. “Who knows what the future holds?”

Keep reading to find out more…Leslie says she is only focused on the future and does not want to dwell on the past. “I have moved forward,” she told Yahoo Entertainment. “I’m working on a lot of exciting things that feel really aligned with the path that I’m looking forward to just enjoying and building. And I’m very grateful to have had the experience of Batgirl and have met the people that I’ve met from that experience, and to have received the support that I, in some cases, didn’t even know was there after the news of it not coming out.”

Meanwhile, she is supporting the upcoming movie Blue Beetle, featuring the DCEU’s first Latino superhero, Xolo Maridueña.

“I think it’s such a major win for our community to be able to see people that represent us in a way that we haven’t been able to see in the past,” Leslie said, proud of her Dominican heritage. “And, absolutely… if you’re Latino in the industry, you know that there’s a lot more work yet to do, and there’s also just so much space and room for nuanced representation of Latinos in film and TV that we’ve yet to unpack.”

If you didn’t see, Leslie also opened up in another interview about how she received the news about Batgirl not being released.
