Matthew McConaughey Explains How His Mom Started Rumors That Woody Harrelson Is His Brother

Matthew McConaughey is revealing more about recent rumors that Woody Harrelson is his brother.

Back in April, Matthew revealed that he and Woody could be half-siblings, citing speculation about his mom Kay‘s relationship with Woody‘s dad.

During a conversation with host Kit Hoover on Access Daily, Matthew exclaimed, “She’s the one that started this whole thing!” when Kit asked what his mother had to say about the rumors.

Matthew then told the story of how the idea of Woody being his brother started, describing the moment his mom introduced the possibility.

“We’re all sitting around in Greece one night talking and my mom out of nowhere in a little pause goes, ‘Oh, I knew your dad, Woody…,’” Matthew said.

“And we all went, ‘What was the ellipsis about? And what was the knew about?’ And she goes, ‘Just saying, we might have frequented the same similar place out in West Texas one time when he was on furlough.’”

“And we all went, ‘What? What, are you going to leave it there?’ ” he continued. “Now we gotta go do some DNA tests.”

As of now, neither Matthew nor Woody has taken a DNA test to discover whether they are actually brothers, however, perhaps one day the truth will come out!
