'Fire Country' Spinoff in the Works at CBS, Main Character Revealed!

The Deadpool franchise star is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Fire Country, playing a sheriff character that could headline her own series, Deadline reported Tuesday (Jan. 23).

The spinoff show would be produced by CBS Studios.

In the spinoff episode, which will air later in the season, Morena will play Mickey, “a Sheriff’s Deputy for fifteen years who knows every corner of Edgewater … and every one of its inhabitants. This is her town and she’s fiercely protective of it.”

The actress has reportedly been in negotiations for it since before the holidays.

The project is expected to go through another development stage before a potential series order, but its reception would be key for the offshoot’s chances of moving forward, Deadline adds.
