Triple-H

Triple H

At one point in 2008, WWE star Triple H was rumored to be a frontrunner to bring the god of thunder to life in the MCU. Bleacher Report reported on the casting whispers at the time, noting that the wrestler did resemble Thor quite a bit.

Triple H himself has seemingly not commented on the casting rumors. However, Deadline also confirmed that he was in the running after Chris was cast. The outlet also noted that he was already a Marvel star at the time, since he played a role in Blade: Trinity, which falls outside of the MCU.

Interest in him playing Thor was so high that fans even imagined him playing a variant of the hero in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum

Following the success of Step Up, Channing Tatum was a certified star in Hollywood around 2009 when rumors linked him to the role. He addressed the whispers during an interview with MTV at the time.

Although he admitted to being interested in the part, he said that he did not seemingly meet the requirements. “I think they’re looking for someone more Nordic-looking,” he explained. While he hasn’t found a spot in the MCU still, Channing has played several heroes over the years. Most notably, he voiced Superman in the The Lego Movie. He also had a starring role in the G.I. Joe movies.
