J. K. Rowling Shuts Down 'Cursed Child' Movie Rumors

Sad news for fans of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!

J.K. Rowling took to Twitter on Friday (January 20) to officially squash rumors that have been circulating about the hit play becoming a movie.

“I know a lot of people are looking for reasons to be cheerful today, but there is NO TRUTH to the rumour about a #CursedChild movie trilogy!” she wrote, seemingly referencing Inauguration Day.

The play opened in London last year, picking up Harry Potter’s story 19 years after the last novel ended.

There is a silver lining, though, as J.K. is still working on two new novels!
