Adele waves to her fans on the black carpet at the 2011 MTV VMAs on Sunday (August 28) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The 23-year-old British singer is nominated for seven awards during the show tonight!

Adele‘s video for “Rolling in the Deep” is nominated for Video of the Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Direction in a Video, Best Art Direction in a Video, Best Editing in a Video, and Best Cinematography in a Video.

FYI: Adele is wearing a Burberry dress with Suzanne Felsen earrings.

The cast of Jersey Shore arrives at the 2011 MTV VMAs on Sunday (August 28) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Snooki, J-Woww, Pauly D, Vinny, Ronnie and Sammi, and Deena were all on hand for the festivities.

Missing was Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, who explained, “I wish I could be at the VMA’s but all flights were grounded because of the Hurricane. Sorry.”

Pete Wentz and Gabe Saporta arrive at the 2011 MTV VMAs on Sunday (August 28) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

“Getting dolled up for my date with @GabrielSaporta #1nite,” the 32-year-old singer tweeted before the show.

Gabe performed during the VMA pre-show with his band, Cobra Starship, while Selena Gomez took care of hosting duties.

“We’ve got a wardrobe emergency backstage at the VMAS! What socks do we wear!?” Gabe tweeted.

Selena Gomez hits the red carpet at the 2011 MTV VMAs on Sunday (August 28) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The 19-year-old entertainer wore a Julien Macdonald dress, Brian Atwood heels, a Judith Leiber clutch, and Ofira jewelry.

Selena will be hosting MTV’s Pre-VMAs show live on the award show’s carpet.

“I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs,” Selena told EW. “After all of my years watching the VMAs, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts. It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year.”

The nominees for the 2011 MTV VMAs are out!

Katy Perry leads the pack with nine nominations, including Best Pop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Special Effects, and Video of the Year for “Firework.”

British songstress Adele and Kanye West tied for seven nods, while Bruno Mars earned four.

Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Nicki Minaj each scored three nominations. Also up for Moonmen awards: Eminem, Chris Brown, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Pitbull.
