Billy Bush is in the midst of negotiations to exit NBC, but he will not be receiving the rumored $10 million settlement, according to his lawyer Marshall Grossman.

The 45-year-old television personality was suspended by the network for his role in the leaked audio featuring Donald Trump‘s lewd remarks about women and will reportedly not be returning to his role as a Today show host.

“There’s no $10 million settlement and that number has not even been discussed,” Marshall told The Hollywood Reporter.

He added, “The parties are negotiating a resolution of their differences at their highest level, and I am personally optimistic that the matter will be resolved upon terms satisfactory to both parties.”

Billy Bush is currently in negotiations to exit NBC, but it does not look like he will be leaving without a fight.

Billy‘s lawyer Marshall Grossman has spoken out to defend his role in the video and explain why he didn’t challenge the former Apprentice host during the interview.

“If Billy had been passive or responded ‘Shut the f�” up’ to Trump, Billy would have been out of a job the next day,” Grossman told The Hollywood Reporter.

Billy Bush is currently negotiating his exit from the Today show and NBC, THR reports.

The 44-year-old TV personality was suspended over the weekend after his part in the Donald Trump offensive leaked audio was revealed.

Some publicists have even promised, apparently, to keep their clients away from the 9am hour of the Today show if Billy was not removed.

“He was rude and lewd to a few female clients of mine. Boycotting the 9 a.m. hour of the Today show,” one publicist wrote on Facebook.

The negotiations could come to an end this week.

Carson Daly is set to fill in for Billy Bush on the Tuesday morning (October 11) taping of the Today show, according to Variety.

The 43-year-old television personality will be co-hosting with Tamron Hall, while Billy is suspended from the show following his involvement in Donald Trump‘s lewd comments scandal.

It has not been decided if Carson will be filling in for any other episodes after Tuesday’s taping.

NBC has also not yet made a decision about Billy‘s ultimate fate with the program, which he joined earlier this year.

The 44-year-old television personality was suspended from NBC’s Today show over the weekend after his involvement in Donald Trump‘s offensive leaked audio about the treatment of women.

Billy has been suspended from the Today show “pending further review,” though it is unclear if he will ever be asked back.

Meanwhile, after Billy‘s suspension became public knowledge, many celebrities took to Twitter to express confusion that he was kicked off of NBC, but Donald is still allowed to run for president.

Billy Bush‘s former co-host on Access Hollywood Live, Kit Hoover, tearfully defended him during Monday morning’s show on October 10.

The television personality worked with Billy for six years before he left the show earlier this year to join Today, from which he was suspended following the release of the Donald Trump tape.

“He was always in my corner,” Kit said. “I was just devastated to watch all this unfold because the Billy that I know – and that a lot of people would say – has the biggest heart of anybody, and he is a good person.”

Billy‘s replacement on the show, Natalie Morales, also said some kind words about him.

“One of the first people to call me and congratulate me when I announced that I would be getting this job was Billy. He also offered advice and offered to help with my move and transition,” she said.

A brief mention of Billy Bush‘s suspension from The Today Show was made on Monday morning’s episode.

The 44-year-old television personality was suspended from the program for his involvement in the discussion with Donald Trump on the set of Access Hollywood eleven years ago.

The mention came after the tape was discussed in a segment about last night’s debate between Trump and Hillary Clinton.

“We want to note one other thing: Pending further review of the matter, NBC News has suspended Billy Bush, who now hosts Today‘s third hour, for his role in the conversation with Donald Trump,” host Savannah Guthrie said.
