Mandy Moore stopped by Busy Tonight on Monday night (April 8) and opened up about working on new music after a decade of silence.

“I’m working on music again, which is so exciting. I haven’t put out a record in a decade,” the 34-year-old actress told Busy. “I’m writing with my friends, I’m writing with my husband – like to be able to share a huge part of who I am that’s sort of been doormat for so long, there’s nothing better than that.”

“I’m kind of writing under the guides of I want it to sound like what Fleetwood Mac would sound like in 2019,” Mandy continued on the sound. “Lot’s of harmonies, sun-drenched California, quintessential folky-pop.”

Later in the show, Mandy celebrated her 35th birthday a few days early with some balloons, a pinata and a special appearance from her This Is Us co-star Chris Sullivan.

Susan Kelechi Watson is glowing on the cover of Good Housekeeping‘s March issue, on newsstands tomorrow (February 19)!

Here’s what the 37-year-old This Is Us actress had to share with the mag:

*Spoiler alert!* On Beth and Randall’s “rocky” future: “They’re trying to work out where they want to be as individuals, and it’s creating friction. I’ve heard many women—friends included—who have said once they became mothers, they lost themselves, and how important it is for a woman to know who she is without the other titles. Those titles are beautiful things, but it’s not the definition of who Beth is, so I love her feeling uncomfortable, and on her own search.”

On seasons three and four of This Is Us: “This season Beth has become undone in ways we haven’t seen before, and that will continue. We’ll have an episode about where she came from. It’s been wonderful to learn about the dreams she had, who she wanted to become—and how far from that she is.”

On filming with all her castmates (it’s like recess!): “The craziest times are when we’re all filming. I feel for those directors! It’s hard to wrangle us, because we get along so well and it’s like, ‘Heyyyy, we get to talk!’ It can get a little chaotic. You have Chris Sullivan [who plays Toby] and Justin [Hartley] and Sterling [K. Brown] all cracking jokes. And Justin has the quickest wit—you just go, ‘How did you come up with that so fast?’”

Sterling on his on-screen wife (Susan), whom he was two years ahead of at NYU graduate school: “I’ve always been a fan of her work and admired her. Sue is just cool people, cool like the other side of the pillow. So finally getting to do something together has been wonderful.”

Chris Sullivan hit Busy Philipps‘ couch on Busy Tonight on Tuesday (January 29) and revealed that he has a “real bromance” with Mandy Moore‘s husband Taylor Goldsmith!

“I’ve fallen in love with Mandy Moore’s husband. We’re having a real bromance,” the 38-year-old This is Us star expressed.

“Taylor Goldsmith is his name, he’s very special to me. He an I bonded over music, he’s the lead singer of a band called Dawes. As soon as we met I bought all of their records,” Chris continued. “He’s producing my next record.”

Chris also talked about his This Is Us cast taking home the big win for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series at the SAG Awards 2019.

The cast of This Is Us poses for photos in the press room with their trophies after winning at the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (January 27) in Los Angeles.

The actors won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, beating out the casts of The Americans, Better Call Saul, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Ozark.

Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, Melanie Liburd, Jon Huertas, and all of the young kids from the show stepped out on stage to accept the award.

This is the second year in a row that they have won!

The 38-year-old actress hit the red carpet at the event on Sunday evening (January 27) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

She was also joined at the event by her co-stars Chris Sullivan, his wife Rachel Reichard, Susan Kelechi Watson and Melanie Liburd.

The entire cast is up for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
