Jimmy Kimmel Gives Tearful Goodbye to David Letterman (Video)

Jimmy Kimmel took a moment to talk about his idol David Letterman ahead of his final show during Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night (May 19) in Hollywood.

The 47-year-old late-night host started to tear up as he talked about what The Late Show With David Letterman meant to him. Watch below!

“I watched the show every night and never missed it, and little did I know that many years and many pounds later, that watching the show was a great education for me,” Jimmy said. “I learned almost nothing in college. I really didn’t. But watching Late Night, not only did I learn how to do everything from Dave, the reason I have this show is because the executives at ABC saw me when I was a guest on Dave‘s show and hired me to host this show. I want to thank Dave and his writers and his producers.”

The final Late Show With David Letterman airs tonight at 11:35pm on CBS. Jimmy is purposely airing a rerun of his own show so people tune in to Dave‘s final episode.

Bill Murray Pops Out of a Cake For David Letterman's Second-to-Last 'Late Show' (Video)

Bill Murray sure made a splash as part of David Letterman‘s second to last The Late Show on Tuesday evening (May 19) in New York City.

The 64-year-old comedian popped out of a cake to surprise David, who will be making his final The Late Show appearance tonight after decades on the air.

Bill also got the crowd to chant for David to stay “for another thirty years.”

Tom Hanks Teaches David Letterman to Use a Selfie Stick in Final 'Late Show' Appearance (Video)

Tom Hanks makes his final appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday evening (May 18) in New York City.

While on the show, the 58-year-old actor taught host David Letterman how to use a selfie stick!

Rita [Wilson] announced that we will never ever have a selfie stick in the house,” Tom said, before explaining that they were on sale all over Florence, Italy. “That’s birthplace of the Renaissance,” Tom added.

George Clooney holds up his wrist as it’s handcuffed to David Letterman while appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman on Thursday evening (May 14) in New York City.

The 54-year-old actor was seen carrying his suit into the Ed Sullivan Theater before the show.

David Letterman's Final 'Late Show' Guests Revealed!

David Letterman‘s final The Late Show appearance is coming up on Wednesday (May 20), and his final guests have just been revealed!

The three-night goodbye event begins on Monday (May 18) with Tom Hanks, who will be making his 60th appearance on the show. Eddie Vedder will also perform.

Bill Murray, David‘s first guest, will make an appearance on Tuesday (May 19). This will be Bill’s 44th appearance on the show.

The final show will be “an hour filled with surprises, memorable highlights, the show’s final Top Ten List and more.”
