Ellen Page speaks on stage about her new documentary Gaycation at the AOL Build Speakers Series event on Wednesday (March 9) in New York City.

The 29-year-old actress was joined by her co-star Ian Daniel.

“The core original idea was a travel show, and to focus on L.G.B.T. culture in different places,” Ellen told NYT. “I’m always excited when I get to watch something that represents the community I’m a part of. But, naturally, advocacy is going to be a part of it. No matter what country you’re in, you’re going to find L.G.B.T. people who are vulnerable and struggling. For me, it was also a journey of learning more about L.G.B.T. history and culture and also to demonstrate what it means to be a gay person and travel around the world.”

Ellen Page has a laugh with her Talullah co-star Allison Janney and the movie’s creator Sian Heder on Saturday (January 23) at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The 28-year-old actress joined industry voices speaking out against Hollywood’s lack of diversity in an interview with The Wrap the day before.

“It’s awful, and I think what just happened in regards to the nominations two years in a row is a reflection of the industry itself, and the lack of diversity in all positions,” Ellen said. “I feel like we all have to be doing what we can to make a change, because we’re supposed to be telling stories that reflect human experience, and we can’t just be showing one group of people.”

Ellen Page keeps it chic and sophisticated in a suit while attending the premiere of her film Freeheld at UGC Cine Cite des Halles on Thursday (January 14) in Paris, France.

The 28-year-old actress is making her rounds overseas to promote the flick. The day before, Ellen was all smiles at the photo call for Freeheld in Germany.

It was recently announced that Netflix has acquired worldwide VOD rights to Ellen‘s other film Tallulah, which is the feature debut of Orange Is The New Black writer-producer Sian Heder.

“Sian Heder is an exciting new voice in cinema and I am so proud to see her work continue from writing on the groundbreaking ‘Orange is the New Black‘ to writing and directing this heartfelt crowd-pleasing film ‘Tallulah,’” said producer Russell Levine, CEO of Route One Entertainment, to Variety. “Audiences worldwide are now going to be able to see Sian’s amazing growth as an artist through the support of Netflix.”

The 28-year-old actress had a moment with Mia Farrow this week when the two bonded on Twitter over an adorable dog.

Ellen tweeted a photo of her girlfriend Samantha Thomas’ dog Patters, and Mia responded with lots of love for the pup.

“Adorable puppy. Special,” she tweeted.

Ellen passed on the message and wrote back, “Patters says thank you!”

Mia was one of the celebs who showed Ellen support when she came out in 2014.

Ellen Page takes the stage during a Q&A for the documentary Janis: Little Girl Blue following a screening on Saturday (December 5) in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old actress was joined on stage by Juliette Lewis.

Ellen appears on the cover of the new American Way issue, in which she opens up about her coming out.

“I was just done. It’s so toxic to just be hiding; it becomes so consuming without you even knowing it’s consuming you,” Ellen said. “You become so complacent in this reality you create. It’s like a bucket, and it’s filling up and filling up and filling up – and finally it just spills over. And I felt guilty for not being out for the LGBT community.”

She added, “I wanted to do it and not make it seem about myself. And I wanted to align particularly with something LGBT-youth-oriented. For me, it was a great opportunity to be honest, to share certain elements of the pain that I went through. Hopefully, that can connect with someone else. The reality is, there are very few young people out as actors, so I was hoping to speak to a lot of the issues so it wouldn’t just seem like, ‘Hey, look, I’m gay.’”
