“The event pic was among numerous movies whose production scheduled was impacted by the pandemic. Currently, it is about three weeks from wrapping principal photography in the U.K. The movie was among the first pics to resume production in late summer. Studio insiders say Dominion is a huge priority for NBCUniversal. The franchise boasts a myriad of theme park tie-ins, merchandising partnerships, live events and more. Universal and Amblin want to ensure that deadlines for retail partners can be met,” THR reported.

Jurassic World: Dominion stars Chris Pratt reprising his role as Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, plus Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Justice Smith, and BD Wong.

'Jurassic World: Dominion' Resumes Shooting Amid Pandemic

Jurassic World: Dominion is getting started again.

The highly anticipated sequel in the long-running franchise started filming again this week in the U.K. amid the pandemic, Variety reported Friday (July 10).

“Any reports indicating that Jurassic World: Dominion has halted production are categorically untrue. The production is in its fifth day of shooting today, and we’re thrilled to be back in front of the camera on this incredible project,” a Universal rep confirmed in a statement amid reports that the production experienced a shutdown due to more than one crew member testing positive for coronavirus.

Jurassic World: Dominion was four weeks into its 20-week production when production first shut down.

Variety reported that Universal would be implementing new safety procedures to keep the set at Pinewood Studios free from COVID-19. The cost, including temperature checks and coronavirus testing, is apparently in the $5 million range according to insiders.

The movie stars Chris Pratt reprising his role as Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, plus Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Justice Smith, and BD Wong. The movie is set to open on June 11, 2021.

Just a few days before production resumed, here’s what Chris Pratt was last seen doing…

“There’s been a lot of communication. They are going above and beyond,” Bryce shared on SiriusXM’s EW Live. “We would never be going back to work if we didn’t feel safe. And, you know, we’re taking it one day at a time and I’m very grateful to have a job.”

The day before, it was announced that Jurassic World: Dominion will be the first movie to return to production in the U.K. amid the pandemic.

“What feels really right about it is that there is this daily conversation, daily communication with all of the actors, all of the key crew members and just us consistently being like, ‘Ok how are we going to do this, how are we going to do this safely,’” Bryce continued. “And not making compromises that could undermine someone’s health.”

Bryce and Chris Pratt will fly out to the UK and undergo a routine two-week quarantine once arriving.

SiriusXM’s EW Live is hosted by Jessica Shaw and Dalton Ross can be heard daily from 2:00 – 4:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Stars channel 109.
