Jack Black and Angelina Jolie‘s new animated flick Kung Fu Panda 3 topped this weekend’s box office with a $41 million debut!
According to THR, the “threequel” came in just below the $47.7 million launch of Kung Fu Panda 2 back in 2011.
Taking the No. 2 spot was Leonardo DiCaprio‘s critically-acclaimed movie The Revenant, which made an additional $12.4 million for a domestic total of $138.2 million so far.
Coming in at third was Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which earned $10.8 million.
Rounding out the top five were The Finest Hours, starring Chris Pine and Casey Affleck, and Ride Along 2, which brought in $10.1 million and $8.3 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Fifty Shades of Black, a spoof on Fifty Shades of Grey starring Marlon Wayans, came in at No. 9 with an estimated $6.2 million.
