Every week, professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev will be writing a blog for JustJared.com and sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes information from Dancing With the Stars.
This week, Artem chatted about dancing with Maureen McCormmick this week, despite her painful back injury. He also talked about how elated he is to have received immunity for their week three salsa.
“The best part of last night was definitely the actual performance. I think it was astonishing! If you had asked me earlier in the week if we would be here I would have said no. Winning immunity was the cherry on top of the cake. Everyone did a great job tonight. It really sucks that someone has to be in jeopardy but its the nature of the game. Rehearsal was really rough this week, we went to the ER until four in the morning when we began rehearsal this week, and only had two days to finish the entire routine. I’m really proud of Maureen and how she is progressing!” Artem wrote.
After the show, Maureen described the extent of her back injury.
“I’m getting an MRI, so that’s good. It’s been one of the most painful things I’ve ever had happen to me, I think maybe the most. ‘Cause every time we’ve had a rehearsal, we’ve had to stop and it’s like bone-to-bone, it’s like a knife, just going all over,” Maureen told E! News. More Here! »
