Max Ehrich is opening up about the surprising way that he learned Demi Lovato had ended their engagement.

The 29-year-old The Young and the Restless actor took to his Instagram Stories on early Saturday morning (September 26) to share his side of the breakup.

“Imagine finding out to the status of your relationship through a tabloid… While your [sic] in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people,” Max wrote in a story post.

Max signed off by saying, “God bless,” with the dove emoji.

Sources have spoken out about what went wrong in the relationship and it seems that Demi realized that she didn’t trust Max and his intentions.

Demi Lovato has ended her engagement to Max Ehrich after only two months and now sources are speaking out about what went wrong for the couple.

The couple started dating back in March and then Max popped the question in June. Now, a source is telling E! News that Demi “feels he proposed to get attention.”

“She doesn’t trust him and thinks he’s sketchy,” that source added.

Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich are parting ways.

The 28-year-old “Sorry Not Sorry” singer and the 29-year-old Restless star are calling off their engagement, People reported Thursday (September 24).

“It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers. They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together,” a source told the outlet.

Their split comes two months after Max proposed in Malibu on July 22. They first began dating in March.

“When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner,” she said at the time.

Earlier in the month, Demi reacted to alleged past tweets from Max about her.

Demi Lovato is seemingly addressing those tweets from fiance Max Ehrich that have started circulating on social media.

The 28-year-old singer took to her Instagram Story to address screenshots of tweets from a few years ago in which the 29-year-old actor said Selena Gomez was a better singer, and was “prettier” than Demi.

“Hahaha selena gomez and demi are cute together [sic] but boy if you think demi is prettier…you’re WRONG!” Max allegedly tweeted.

“There’s a female singer that screams so much, that’s why my girl S is better than you know who,” Max allegedly tweeted in 2015 along with a crying laughing emoji.

Demi is now seemingly responding to the tweets, calling them “fake.”

“It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other. If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU,” Demi started her message.

“Secondly, don’t y’all have more important s–t to write about in 2020???” Demi continued. “I challenge any tabloid that dares to type my name to mention Breonna Taylor and the face that her murderers still haven’t been arrested. WRITE ABOUT THAT.”

“So while on one hand I understand have compassion for those who are so horrified at the reality of 2020 that they gotta distract themselves with doctored images in order to not focus on how bad these times are – but on the other hand, if you’re aren’t 13 years old trying to grasp the reality of right now, put on your adult underpants and write about what actually matters. Please.” Demi added.

During an interview earlier this year, Demi said that she and Selena were “not friends” anymore.

Demi and Max announced their engagement in July.

Demi Lovato is opening up about life under quarantine with Max Ehrich!

During a recent interview with The Morning Mash Up on SiriusXM Hits 1, the 28-year-old singer talked about her six-month relationship with the 29-year-old actor.

“We were able to share this time together that we wouldn’t have normally gotten to spend,” Demi said. “And that accelerated our relationship on a level that you can’t really explain to people, but quarantine either makes or breaks the deal. And it really made that. So I’m really blessed, really fortunate and continuing to count my blessings every day.”

Demi and Max were first linked together back in March, right before the ongoing pandemic sent everyone into quarantine. At that time, Max moved into Demi’s apartment so they could quarantine together.

“We started dating. We immediately went into quarantine,” Demi continued. “I knew I loved him the night I met him. So a week later we went into quarantine. I was like, ‘Look, we’re quarantining together. Um, cause I love you.’”

In July, Max proposed to Demi, and they celebrated with a romantic dinner at Nobu.

Just recently, Demi showed off her new neck tattoo.

Demi Lovato is celebrating her six month anniversary with fiance Max Ehrich.

The 28-year-old singer and Max, 29, dated for just a short time before becoming engaged this summer on July 22.

Celebrating the event, Demi shared with a sweet message on her Instagram Story, written over a clip of Max on his knees playing with their two pet dogs in the grass.

“Happy 6 months to my darling, the best father these pups could ever ask for. I love you BEYOND. Thank you for making my life so much better @maxehrich 💖💖💖 I love you baby 💞💞💞,” she captioned.

Demi and Max first sparked dating rumors earlier this year and had a whirlwind relationship before sealing it with a ring.

Demi was one of several celebrities who shared a tribute to Chadwick Boseman over the weekend, just shortly after it was revealed he had died after a long battle with colon cancer.

“I never met @chadwickboseman,” she wrote, “but he was so incredibly talented and I’ve only heard friends or industry people say nothing but incredible things about him.”

Demi added, “RIP King 🤴🏿🙏🏼.”
