Julianna Margulies Honored With Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About His Father's Parkinson's Disease & Friendship with Michael J. Fox (Video)

Ryan Reynolds poses with Michael J. Fox as they sit down for an interview with Willie Geist on The Today Show on Wednesday morning (November 26) in New York City.

The 38-year-old actor, whose father suffers from the disease, sits on the Board of Directors of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

“[My father] comes from a pretty prideful generation. And he doesn’t really talk about it too much,” Ryan said. “But, he’s maybe said it once or twice out loud,” Reynolds said. “I think one of the interesting things about having a family member who’s diagnosed with this particular disease, who isn’t really engaging in an active fight against it, it kind of galvanized everybody else to seek resources. And for us, in a strange way, it’s really kind of brought us together.”

Michael said, “Once I made my diagnosis known, it’s been a tremendous opportunity and a tremendous privilege.”

'Michael J. Fox' Show Canceled By NBC, Will Finish Season

NBC has canceled The Michael J. Fox Show after less than one season on the air, according to Vulture.

The show will be pulled from the Thursday night schedule and replaced with episodes of Hollywood Game Night.

The news comes after it was announced that Sean Saves the World was shutting down production and got canceled as well. Both shows were pulling in just around 3 million viewers in recent weeks.

The Michael J. Fox Show was given a 22 episode order before the series even started, so production will continue and it is likely that episodes will return on the network at some point.
