Another Broadway Show Has Closed Completely Amid the Current Shut Down

The Broadway revival of the classic play Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf has officially closed after playing just nine preview performances.

All Broadway shows were shut down on March 12 due to the current health crisis facing the world and it’s unclear when shows will be able to resume performances.

When Broadway returns, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf will not come resume performances “due to ensuing cast scheduling conflicts amid the shutdown.” The production starred Laurie Metcalf, Rupert Everett, Patsy Ferran, and Russell Tovey.

This is the second Broadway play to announce it will not return. The new play Hangmen also has canceled its run.

'My Best Friend's Wedding' Cast Reunites 22 Years After Film's Release!

The cast of the 1997 hit romantic comedy My Best Friend’s WeddingJulia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Rupert Everett, and Dermot Mulroney – reunite on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s new issue!

Here’s what the cast had to share about the film, 22 years after its release…

Cameron, on people still loving the film: “People come up to me and just say, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding!’ and I’m like, ‘Aww.’ It’s just this joyous feeling that you get off of them. I appreciate that so much.”

Julia, on what she loved about the movie: “I just thought it was really clever and just funny. All the physical comedy I loved. Lots of falling down and falling through things, falling all over myself, falling over Dermot. The scene, for me, that made it feel so authentic and earnest is when I finally tell Dermot’s character, ‘Pick me. Let me make you happy.’ Just that line: That’s just so succinct and sweet and meaningful.”

Cameron, on her sister-in-law Nicole Richie being obsessed with the movie: “My sister-in-law is obsessed with this movie. We went to Chicago, like, a year and a half ago, and she took me to every single [location]. She’s like, ‘Remember when you were walking down the street right here and then…; It was so much fun. I was like, ‘Yes, I think I do.’ She’s like, ‘I do, and it really means a lot to me, so I would like for you to pretend like you do.’”

Charlie Rowe Stars in BAM's Play 'The Judas Kiss' (Photos)

Charlie Rowe stars in a scene alongside co-star Rupert Everett in these production photos from BAM’s production of the play The Judas Kiss.

The play is currently running in Brooklyn, N.Y. through June 12.

Charlie is best known for his work on Fox’s critically acclaimed series Red Band Society and he was one of the frontrunners for the role of Spider-Man in the new franchise.

Set in two acts on either side of Wilde’s imprisonment on charges of indecency, we see Wilde after the collapse of his libel case against the Marquess of Queensbury (the father of Wilde’s beloved, Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas), and later in Naples, after two years of imprisonment, when he is reunited with Bosie (Rowe).
