Kevin O’Leary‘s boat was involved in a crash over the weekend in Ontario, Canada that left one man dead and a woman critically injured.

The accident occurred on Lake Joseph on Saturday night (August 24) around 11:30pm when the 65-year-old Shark Tank‘s smaller boat crashed into a larger boat, going directly over the bow and striking a man on the head, killing him instantly, TMZ reports.

At first, the publication reported that Kevin‘s boat left the scene immediately after the fatal crash, but it was later clarified that his boat was towed to a marina on Monday by a salvage boat with police onboard. Authorities reportedly seized the boat for forensic testing.

Kevin later released a statement that he was on the boat and that he is cooperating with the police as they investigate.

“Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident,” Kevin shared in a statement with TMZ. “I am fully cooperating with authorities. Out of respect for the families who have lost loved ones and to fully support the ongoing investigation, I feel it is inappropriate to make further comments at this time. My thoughts are with all the families affected.”

It is being reported that authorities are looking into whether the larger boat had its lights on, which would have allowed the people on Kevin‘s boat to see it at the time of the crash.

According to reports, there were a total of eight people on the larger boat. The fatality is reportedly a 64-year-old man from Florida, while the injured woman is a 48-year-old Canadian citizen, who is reportedly now on a ventilator with significant brain damage.

ABC has announced a lineup of guest sharks to join the upcoming ninth season of Shark Tank!

The six main sharks – Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, and Kevin O’Leary – will continue to rotate throughout the season. When only four of them are able to appear on an episode, a guest shark will sit in the tank with them.

Former baseball player Alex Rodriguez and Real Housewives of New York City star and Skinnygirl CEO Bethenny Frankel are among the stars joining the tank!

The other three guest sharks will be Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, Glaceau and Bai founder Rohan Oza, and Spanx founder and sole owner Sara Blakely.
