Robert Pattinson had already established himself as an emerging talent in Hollywood with his portrayal of Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter franchise before he was cast as Edward Cullen in Twilight. That turned him into a mega-star.

He played the lead, sparkling vampire in the blockbuster adaptations of author Stephenie Meyer‘s beloved novels. However, we have since learned that he faced some stiff competition to book his starring role alongside Kristen Stewart.

Thousands of actors auditioned for the role, but a much smaller list of frontrunners and A-listers who were considered has been revealed. It includes a Schitt’s Creek star, several actors who booked other roles in Twilight and someone who admitted that they later regretted their audition.

It also includes Stephenie‘s first choice for Edward, who only learned that he was in the running years after the fact!

The Twilight film franchise, based on author Stephenie Meyer‘s novels, helped lay the groundwork for a new generation of teen fantasy blockbusters.

They also featured a star-studded cast that have gone on to amass very impressive net worths over the course of their careers.

Of course, some of the most recognizable stars from the franchise are the three main leads – Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. However, the rest of the Cullen family and several other stars from the franchise have also enjoyed successful careers in Hollywood.

We decided to check out what sort of fortunes the stars have amassed in honor of the 11th anniversary of the franchise’s final movie The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. You might be surprised by where some of the actors fall on the list.

Kristen Stewart already had a multitude of acting credits to her name by the time she was chosen to bring Bella Swan to life in Twilight, but the fame that came with the role made her a household name.

However, like with any other role in Hollywood, she wasn’t the only star who auditioned for the part.

In fact, four Hollywood A-listers have spoken out and revealed that they also put their name in the running. One of those actresses was even famously author Stephenie Meyer‘s first choice.

Expect Twilight casting rumors to kick back into motion again after it was announced that a TV retelling of the books was in the works. Three of the Cullen siblings reunited, and Twilight fans around the world are loving it!

On Saturday (October 28), Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone got together again to attend MCM Comic Con in London, England.

If you forgot, they played three of Edward Cullen’s (Robert Pattinson) siblings – Emmett Cullen, Alice Cullen and Jasper Hale, respectively – in the mega-successful film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer‘s novels.

Sofia Coppola is opening up about two movies that she turned down.

The famed 52-year-old director has worked on projects such as Marie Antoinette, Lost in Translation and, most recently, Priscilla, which stars Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny as Elvis and Priscilla Presley.

While she’s got some big projects to her name, Sofia opted out of directing a Little Mermaid movie. She also passed on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. She explained why in a recent interview.

Kristen Stewart spilled some tea during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live!

The 33-year-old Spencer actress opened up about everything from her first kiss (which she shared with another celebrity) to how she spent her first paychecks. She even revealed how old she was when she started smoking weed.

As the conversation continued, Kristen answered a question about Twilight, revealing if the cast still keeps in touch to this day. She also addressed her hopes to have Guy Fieri marry her and fiancee Dylan Meyer.

Taylor Lautner became a household name playing Jacob in the Twilight franchise, but he had to fight for the part twice. Both times he faced off against some talented actors, too!

If you forgot, the 31-year-old actor played the young werewolf alongside Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in 2008′s Twilight.

However, there were concerns that he wouldn’t be able to bring the character to life in 2009′s sequel New Moon since Jacob went through a massive body transformation and put on a significant amount of muscle and height after turning into a werewolf.

As a result, Taylor had to hit the gym and go through his own body transformation to keep the role. He reflected on almost being recast in a recent interview, crediting Kristen for helping him stay on with the franchise.

We were curious about who else could have brought Jacob to life and did some digging. In the process, we discovered three stars who were up for that part, including author Stephenie Meyer‘s first choice, the actor who almost replaced Taylor in New Moon and a Teen Wolf star.
