Tilda Swinton is Red Hot

With poise, presence and a glowing Oscar to her name, Tilda Swinton and her red hot hair arrive back in London on Wednesday after attending the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Tilda, 47, picked up an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role as the powerfully ambitious attorney Karen Crowner in Michael Clayton.

Ms. Swinton is the hot new thing in Hollywood!

And is Tilda‘s hair really red? Or just plain orange?

Bag by Prada.

I think she’s great, she doesn’t play up to the typical hollywood actress and her acting is always perfect.

She is an interesting actress – less than pretty but extremely gifted in her acting ability. I predict that she won’t really be a major star, maybe only for a year or two, if that. Marisa Tomei or Mira Sorvino faded from Oscar glory and so will she especially if she doesn’t glam it up a bit more. Although she is a much classier actress than either of them, she won’t stay in demand for very long.

Tilda Swinton is in fact a natural red head, I saw a biography on her, they showed baby pictures. She’s wonderful!

Swinton should’ve been the new hot thing in Hollywood years ago! She’s unique in both beauty and acting! She’s worked with the Coen Brothers and David Fincher recently. Hopefully loads of directors will see the true wonderfulness of Swinton!

She’s pretty awesome. I’m not big on the whole androgyny look, but she is original. Quirky and intelligent and nothing like the same old cookie cutter thing going on in Hollywood.

I’m suddenly a mass Tilda Swinton fan =)

I love Tilda for her work in Orlando. The way she dresses terrifies me, but at least she doesn’t try to conform to any of that Hollywood stuff.

#4 I really don’t think she cares about becoming a “major star” in Hollywood. I think her entertaining and irreverent acceptance speech made that abundantly clear. This is a woman who has for years made her bread and butter independent film scene despite occasional forays into the mainstream: such as “Constantine” and moist notably “The Chronicles of Narnia.”

One of her upcoming credits on IMDB is called “Phantasmagoria: The visions of Lewis Carroll” a film that stars and is directed by Marilyn Manson for crying out loud. *Yes THE Marilyn Manson*. It’s not anything I would ever see but I gotta give her credit for not being afraid to walk off the beaten path like that.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if she DID actually give the Oscar to her agent. LOL

amen to #14.. tilda deserves the attention, but she could care less if she got any. she’s in it for the craft, the art. i mean she DID sleep in a glass case for an exhibit before. i love that she got an oscar. doesn’t validate her talents– they have long been recognized, but it does increase the world’s awareness for unconventional personalities like tilda. MAN i love her bag. thanks for the tilda post, jj! you seem to know just the right kind of celebs who deserve a headline :)

She is amazing, and it’s a shame that she is underrated. She should have received recognition years ago. I sat at her State of the Cinema Address (at the San Francisco International Film Festival) a couple of years ago, and she was so beguiling. She still is. She’s a very intelligent woman. She has a great sense of self-awareness, and I am glad that she is removed from all that Hollywood hype. I also love the androgynous look.

I love her! She’s sharp as a tack and her dry wit. She reportedly has a degree in social and political studies from Cambridge U but then chose to go in theater and cinema after Uni. Very impressive, in addition to the fact that she’s a really talented actress.

Yes! Tilda pics! I’ve been a fan of hers for years and was so excited when she won the Oscar. These make me wonder what she’s saying to the paps.

It surprises me that she would carry the Prada Faerie Bag. It’s so mainstream right now.

She looks like a man . . . David Bowie to be exact.
