Natalie Portman & Mila Kunis: Ballet Bunch

Natalie Portman and her Black Swan co-star Mila Kunis rub shoulders at the 2009 American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall on Wednesday (October 7) in New York City.

Natalie, 28, and Mila, 26, play rival ballerinas in the upcoming thriller Black Swan, out 2010. They reportedly will participate in a racy girl-on-girl love scene.

Mila hasn’t confirmed or denied the rumors, telling FOX News, “I’m not allowed to talk about the script yet, but I’m excited to work with Natalie. I’ve known her for some time.”

FYI: Nat is wearing a dress from the 2009/10 Chanel Cruise Collection.

I’m so glad the recession has been good for Natalie. I’d hate for her to be out of work. She would be forced to pursue things she’s passionate about. And judging by her film performances, acting clearly isn’t one of those things.

I think Mila is better looking then Natalie. She’s gorgeous.

@mona: I disagree and this is why

Natalie Portman (Hebrew: נטלי פורטמן‎; born Natalie Hershlag June 9, 1981) is an Israeli American actress. Her first role came in the 1994 independent film Léon (known in the United States as The Professional). She achieved wider fame after playing Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.[1] Portman, who has said “I’d rather be smart than a movie star,”[2] completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Harvard College while she was working on the Star Wars films.[3]

In 2001, Portman opened in New York City’s Public Theater production of Chekhov’s The Seagull, alongside Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.[1] In 2005, Portman received a Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting Actress in the drama Closer. In May 2008, she served as the youngest member of the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival jury.[4] Portman’s directorial debut, Eve, opened the 65th Venice International Film Festival’s shorts competition in 2008

@#2 I totally agree.

@#3 Star Wars had some of the worst acting to ever grace the screen and Portman’s performance as Anne Frank as well as Nina in The Seagull received poor reviews so you can wipe the brown off your nose now. And you should really google Pia Zadora before bragging about someone winnning a Golden Globe.

Oh my god her dress is the length as someone else. Waiting for the same comments-can’t have it both ways

@sharon you forgot to list she also signed her name to release a child rapist.

I still can’t believe she signed the Polanski petition. By the way, why did Natalie change her last name? The other person who did that was Winona Horowitz. Are they embarrassed of their names or, even worse, their heritage?

Mila makes Nat look like a hag…haha

@ 7 Rachel no she did it for privacy

Thumb up Thumb down 0

But why did she choose a non-Jewish stage name?

@rachel:

Plenty of celebrities change their name:

Bing Crosby => Harry Crosby
Bob Dylan => Robert Zimmerman
Buster Keaton => Joseph Frank Keaton
Cary Grant => Archibald Alexander Leach
Charles Bronson => Charles Buchinski
Charlie Sheen => Carlos Irwin Estevez
Chuck Norris => Carlos Ray Norris

etc, etc , etc,….

@sharon
She got into Harvard after she was already famous. Not quite the same thing as getting in on merit. Plus, everybody knows that Psychology is a cop out major, which is exactly why it’s at the top of my list. Hell, even George Bush got an MBA from Harvard. As far as her acting goes, she is the epitome of wooden.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

@rachel good question. it used to be common ages ago, but nobody does it anymore. everybody on that list (#11) is either dead or really old and Charlie Sheen only did it because his father changed his name.

Mila wipes the floor with Portman and she doesn’t stick her foot in her mouth every time she opens it. Tell us again, Natalie, how you know what it’s like to be Black because you’re a celebrity and how the recession is a good thing, and how pedophiles should not be sentenced because,well, they’re your biggest fanbase and enjoy your early work.

@Rachel
She changed her name for the same reason she had a nose job.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

She was barely famous when she got into Harvard and earned an actual degree and used her real name. She was never a media ***** so it’s not like at that point in time she was the “star” she is now. She earned a REAL degree – not one of those honary degrees celebs get from colleges trying to boost their publicity.

Both of these women are very beautiful and talented. Natalie’s accomplished more at her young age than most of her peers and Mila’s a rising star.

It’s nice to see 2 lovely and TALENTED women on this board – especially in the same thread vs JJ’s usual media whores.

And if she got a nose job – who cares?? Did she use bailout money from tax payers to foot the bill?? Did she use welfare or medicaid funds for it? If not it’s really none of your business then.

Wow and I thought only one certain actress around here was hated with a passion lmao. And isn’ t it nice to see the haters from another actress’ threads put on the defence. What goes around comes around…

Thumb up Thumb down 0

What the f*** are you c***s cackling about? Both of these women are gorgeous and respectable in their own right. I personally would take Natalie over Mila any day – but who cares…

Natalie is a very smart girl – RESPECT!

She’s been making movies since early teens and was already cast in Star Wars when she got into Harvard. She had the lead in one of the most anticipated movies of our time and you think she was “barely famous”? Are you perhaps unfamiliar with Ivy League pandering to the undistinguished members of the rich and famous elite?

Thumb up Thumb down 0

Natalie is gorgeous, she is the envy of the world.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

Natalie changed her name to Portman, which is the name of her Jewish grandmother. She did it so her immediately family would have privacy.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

Natalie is has a brilliant mind, she went to Harvard and got straight A-s all her life.
